Video Door Phones and Intercoms for Homes, Apartments and Offices

A video door phone lets you see, hear and talk to a visitor before opening the door. Many can also unlock the door remotely. They range from simple home doorbells to full apartment and office systems.

Types of systems

Wi-Fi video doorbell

A single doorbell camera that connects to home Wi-Fi and rings your phone. Easy to install and suits flats and houses with good Wi-Fi.

Door phone with indoor monitor

An outdoor station with a camera and an indoor screen. Works even if the internet is down. Many models also send calls to a phone app.

Apartment intercom

One entrance panel at the building gate can call every flat. Residents see the visitor and can release the gate lock. The guard room can also have a master station.

SIP / IP door station

Connects to an IP-PBX, so the door can ring desk phones, reception or mobile apps. Ideal for offices, factories and gated sites.

What to check before buying

• Wired or Wi-Fi connection, and the distance to the indoor monitor.
• Weather and vandal resistance for the outdoor unit.
• Door or gate unlock output and compatible locks.
• Phone app support and how many users can receive calls.
• Recording of visitor snapshots or video.
• Power backup, so the door still works during a power cut.

Combine with CCTV and access control

In offices and apartment buildings, door phones work well alongside CCTV and card or face access, so residents use their credential while visitors use the intercom.
